How to Add a Link-in-Bio CTA to a TikTok Video

First add a working website link to your TikTok profile and check that it reaches the resource you promise. Then put a short prompt such as “Recipe in my profile link” over your own footage, using plain text or an animated overlay. The graphic is only a visual reminder: it does not create a clickable link or unlock profile-link eligibility.

Does the career-guide card match your profile link?

A CTA, or call to action, asks the viewer to take a specific next step. An overlay is an extra visual layer above your recording.

Only the overlay file was exported; we did not test CapCut import, keying, transparent WebM or a TikTok publishing workflow. The app steps are documentation-based; the TikTok link help was rechecked on October 12.

Have your footage, editor, resource and destination URL ready. Use the sample only for a free career guide.

Is a website link available on your TikTok account?

TikTok’s help says a profile website link requires at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account, checked October 12, 2026. Its business help explains that Verified Business Account was formerly called Registered Business Account and requires successful business verification. Do not treat an account-type change as a guaranteed unlock. TikTok website-link eligibility, business account entitlements.

We reopened and read the full English website-link help on October 12. This verifies its documented rule, not an account’s eligibility or the app workflow. Check the link option on your own account before publishing; country-specific availability was not established here.

TikTok recommends direct links and says profile links open in its in-app browser. Its safety measures can limit external link chains and prompt someone to open their device’s browser. My suggestion is to link directly to the promised resource when possible and check that journey on a phone. TikTok’s link guidance checked October 12.

What should the CTA say?

Name both the destination and the reason to visit: “Ingredient list in my profile link” is more specific than “Check it out.” For a paid offer, try “Recipe ebook in my profile link”; reserve “free” for an offer that is actually free. These are writing suggestions, not tested conversion formulas.

Match the resource name to its destination page. Explain any email requirement or payment, and keep the promise accurate while the video remains available.

TikTok’s 2025 advertising playbook, page 17, recommends a specific closing CTA after the selling points. That is ad guidance, not an organic-video rule or evidence that a bio card increases visits. TikTok SMB Creative Playbook.

How do you add the real link and the visual prompt?

  1. Add the website separately. According to TikTok, open Profile → Edit profile, then tap Add beside Links and follow the website-link prompts. Return to the profile and check the destination before editing the video. Expect a profile link, not a link attached to the animation. TikTok profile-link instructions.

  2. Choose plain text or ready-made motion. According to CapCut, Text → Add text adds your own wording. This is a valid route for a simple prompt without an imported graphic. CapCut text instructions.

For an animated card, browse link-in-bio overlays and choose a Free badge, or open the tested free career-guide configuration. Free elements download as they are as green-screen H.264 MP4, without sign-up or watermark. Background and Format remain selectable; use Green screen and portrait 9:16 here.

  3. Layer and key the downloaded graphic. Follow the documentation-based CapCut overlay import and green-removal workflow. Chroma key removes the sampled green background from the animation layer above your footage. Keep the two clips overlapping for the whole animation; skip this asset step if you chose native text. These receiving-editor steps were not tested here.

  4. Position the complete card. According to CapCut, mobile supports dragging and pinch resizing; desktop resizing uses corner points. Positioning instructions. My suggestion is to protect the smaller resource line as carefully as the main label. An upward arrow is a visual cue, not proof that a link sits directly above the card.

  5. Reserve the animation’s entrance and exit. The tested file lasts 3.5 seconds in total. Read both lines without pausing. If rushed, shorten your own text or choose a different treatment; 3.5 seconds is not a universal reading requirement.

  6. Export and check both parts of the journey. According to CapCut, Export saves the edited video. Export instructions. Replay the saved result at phone size, inspect the intended destination preview, and separately follow your actual profile link. Expect readable words and the promised resource; the render test alone establishes neither.

What should you fix if the CTA does not work?

These are suggested checks, not receiving-editor compatibility results.

Problem Check Suggested fix
Links/Add is absent or no website can be added Your account’s available controls and eligibility Consult TikTok help; postpone the link promise.
Profile link reaches a different offer Destination and resource name Correct the URL or wording before posting.
A chain of pages interrupts the journey Direct resource address Try the direct destination and check it again.
Main label is readable but the offer is tiny Phone-size playback Shorten the subline before shrinking the layer.
Green fringes remain Card corners and arrow badge Re-sample green and balance keying controls.

The link-chain check follows TikTok’s guidance; the edge adjustment follows CapCut’s troubleshooting. For lettering, W3C’s contrast reference specifies 4.5:1 for ordinary text and 3:1 for large text. Check the words against their card; this alone does not certify video accessibility. W3C contrast guidance.

Where and when should the card appear?

Treat these as design suggestions, not TikTok placement rules:

  • Career advice: show the guide after explaining a useful idea, with the full animation beside the speaker rather than over subtitles.
  • Recipe demonstration: let the finished dish remain visible while naming the ingredient list in your profile link.
  • Product walkthrough: show the CTA after the relevant demonstration, naming the actual resource and any purchase requirement.

Use the guide to text clear of platform controls for your destination check. The preset’s Lower position does not establish safe placement for your footage. Keep one request on screen and inspect the whole moving card.

What if the link option is absent?

Do not send viewers to a destination you cannot provide. Recheck TikTok’s eligibility guidance and use its Help Center for account-specific questions; this article offers no workaround guarantee. TikTok website-link help.

My suggested alternative is to put the useful information in the video or ask viewers to follow for material you plan to publish. Browse follow-reminder overlays and use the CapCut overlay workflow to layer one over your footage. A rendered follow card is also only a visual prompt.

If you can fulfill resource requests individually, consider a comment prompt instead. The comment-keyword CTA guide covers an Instagram workflow and its delivery boundaries; it does not establish TikTok DM automation. Modisign neither creates profile links nor detects comments or sends messages.

How can you adapt the card to your own resource?

For your own offer and styling, Modisign Pro is $9/month plus applicable tax and unlocks text, look, colors and the available size/position controls for every overlay. This link-in-bio family has Size, Vertical, Horizontal and Arrow direction. Anyone can preview custom configurations; downloading them requires sign-in and Pro.

For a card without green, see transparent video versus green screen. Desktop Transparent output is VP9 WebM; verify alpha preservation in your editor before using it.

Try an unchanged free overlay; the landing picker does not contain every family. Your editor combines the animation with your recording.

Frequently asked questions

Is the animated Link in bio card clickable?

No. The card and arrow are pixels in the rendered video. They do not open a website or create a TikTok link. Add the destination separately through TikTok’s profile settings, then make the graphic explain where viewers should go.

Can I add a profile website link below 1,000 followers?

The TikTok website-link help checked on October 12 also lists a Verified Business Account as an eligible route. Its business documentation says that status requires successful business verification. This article does not establish a shortcut or guarantee access for a particular account or country; check the link option in your account.

Can I replace the free career-guide wording with my own offer?

Free Modisign presets download as they are, without sign-up or watermark; Background and Format remain selectable. Use native editor text for your own wording, or customize the animation with Pro. A customized download requires sign-in and Pro. Use the sample’s free-guide promise only if you actually provide that resource.

Can I use a transparent card instead of removing green?

Modisign offers desktop transparent VP9 WebM with alpha, the information storing transparency, including for unchanged free presets. Import and alpha preservation in a receiving editor were not tested here. Verify both in your exact editor version; the demonstrated file is green-screen H.264 MP4.

Sources and test details

Tested in Modisign modisign.app, October 2026 on Desktop browser: On October 9, 2026, exported the unchanged free Free career guide preset with default Green screen: 1080×1920 H.264 MP4, 30 fps, 105 frames, 3.5 s. We checked the file; a frame at 1.5 seconds showed Link in bio and Free career guide inside on a white card with a blue upward-arrow badge against green. No receiving-editor import, keying, transparent WebM or platform workflow test was performed.

Tested in Modisign Local Modisign site, October 2026 on Desktop Chrome on macOS: October 14: Checked the Free career guide illustration, free configuration and placement labels. The sample card points toward a profile link; it does not create one. Look changes palette colors; Layout changes structure and palette changes preserve wording and placement. Missing catalog images prevented the editor from loading, so no new export or receiving-editor test was completed. Earlier export measurements retain their original dates.
